Dodge and Plymouth trucks equipped with manual transmission can be push started, although this is not recommended if you value the appearance of your truck.
To push start, make sure that the bumpers of both vehicles are in reasonable alignment. Bent sheet metal and inflamed tempers are both predictable results from misaligned bumpers when push starting. Turn the ignition key to ON and engage high gear. Depress the clutch pedal. When a speed of about 10 mph is reached, slightly depress the gas pedal and slowly release the clutch. The engine should start. Never get an assist by having the vehicle towed. There is too much risk of the towed vehicle ramming the towing vehicle once it starts.
Vehicles equipped with automatic transmission cannot be started by pushing or towing.
