Fuel Fittings

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



See Figure 1

  1. Remove the air cleaner assembly.
  2.  
  3. Perform the fuel system pressure release.
  4.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Loosen the fuel inlet and return hose clamps. Wrap a shop towel around each hose, twist and pull off each hose.

  5. Remove each fitting and note the inlet diameter. Remove the copper washers.
  6.  

To install:
  1. Install the fuel fittings in the proper ports using new copper washers and torque to 14 ft. lbs. (1.5 Nm).
  2.  
  3. Using new original equipment type hose clamps, install the fuel return and supply hoses.
  4.  
  5. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
  6.  
  7. Test for leaks using ATM tester C-4805 or equivalent. With the ignition in the RUN position depress the ATM button. This will activate the pump and pressurize the system. Check for leaks.
  8.  
  9. Reinstall the air cleaner assembly.
