REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



1967-72 Models
  1. Remove the wiper arms.
  2.  
  3. Remove the 7 screws and lift the grille off the cowl.
  4.  
  5. Remove the clip retaining the right link to the intermediate crank arm pin, then lift the washer and link from the pin.
  6.  
  7. Remove the nut retaining the left link to the intermediate arm, then carefully pry the arm and link from the pin.
  8.  
  9. Remove the pivot retaining screws from each pivot, then push the pivots into the plenum chamber. Lift the link and pivot assembly out through the grille opening.
  10.  
  11. Remove the retainer clip, washer and link from the pivot arm.
  12.  

To install:
  1. Install the retainer clip, washer and link to the pivot arm.
  2.  
  3. Install the pivot retaining screws for each pivot, then push the pivot into the plenum chamber. Install the link and pivot assembly through the grille opening.
  4.  
  5. Fasten the nut that retains the left link to the intermediate arm, then carefully attach the pin to the arm and link.
  6.  
  7. Install the clip that retains the right link to the intermediate crank arm pin, along with the washer and link to the pin.
  8.  
  9. Position the grille on the cowl, and fasten the 7 screws.
  10.  
  11. Reinstall the wiper arms.
  12.  

1973-88 Models
LEFT PIVOT AND DRIVE LINK

See Figure 1

  1. Remove the wiper arms.
  2.  
  3. Remove the cowl assembly.
  4.  
  5. Reach through the access hole and remove the drive link from the right pivot by prying the retaining bushing from the pivot pin.
  6.  
  7. Remove the crank arm from the drive link by prying the retaining bushing from the crank arm pin.
  8.  
  9. Remove the left pivot mounting screws and let the pivot hang loosely.
  10.  
  11. Remove the drive link and left pivot through the access holes.
  12.  
  13. Remove the drive link from the left pivot by prying the retaining bushing from the pivot pin.
  14.  

To install:
  1. Install the left pivot pin in the drive link retainer bushing by snapping them together with channel lock pliers.
  2.  
  3. Maneuver the drive links and pivot assemblies through the access hole into their proper positions.
  4.  
  5. Install and tighten the pivot mounting screws to 95 inch lbs. (10.6 Nm).
  6.

  1. Install the crank arm pin in the drive link retainer bushing by snapping them together with channel lock pliers.
  2.  
  3. Install the right pivot pin in the drive link retainer bushing by snapping them together with channel lock pliers.
  4.  
  5. Position the cowl cover, then install the mounting bolts and tighten securely.
  6.  
  7. Install the wiper arms and adjust.
  8.  
  9. Check the washer aim.
  10.  

RIGHT PIVOT

See Figure 1

  1. Remove the wiper arms.
  2.  
  3. Remove the cowl assembly.
  4.  
  5. Reach through the access hole and remove the drive link from the right pivot by prying the retaining bushing from the pivot pin.
  6.  
  7. Remove the right pivot mounting screws.
  8.  
  9. Remove the pivot through the access hole.
  10.  

To install:
  1. Position the pivot into place, then install the mounting screws and tighten them to 95 inch lbs. (10.6 Nm).
  2.  
  3. Install the pivot pin in the drive link retainer bushing by snapping them together with channel lock pliers.
  4.  
  5. Replace the cowl cover and install mounting bolts and tighten securely.
  6.  
  7. Install the wiper arms and adjust.
  8.  
  9. Check the washer aim.
  10.
