Timing Belt Cover

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



See Figure 1

A timing belt is used only for the 2.5L engine.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the nuts that attach the upper cover to the cylinder head cover.
  4.  
  5. Remove the bolt that attaches the upper cover to the lower cover.
  6.

  1. Remove the upper cover.
  2.  
  3. Raise the vehicle and support safely. Remove the right side splash shield.
  4.  
  5. Remove the crankshaft pulley, water pump pulley and the belt(s).
  6.  
  7. Remove the lower cover attaching bolts.
  8.  
  9. Remove the lower cover.
  10.  

To install:
  1. Install the timing belt cover.
  2.  
  3. Install the crankshaft pulley, water pump pulley and the belt(s).
  4.  
  5. Install the right splash shield.
  6.  
  7. Install the upper cover.
  8.  
  9. Connect the negative battery cable.
  10.
