REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



See Figures 1, 2 and 3

  1. Disconnect the battery ground.
  2.  
  3. Remove the glove box.
  4.

  1. Reach behind the instrument panel and unplug the antenna lead from the radio.

  1. Reach through the glove box opening and pull the antenna lead out of the retainer clip.
  2.  
  3. Open the right door and remove the cable grommet from the A-pillar.
  4.  
  5. Pull the cable from the A-pillar.
  6.

  1. Loosen, but do not remove, the antenna mast.
  2.  
  3. Loosen the capnut on the adapter.
  4.  
  5. Hold the antenna mast in one hand and remove the capnut with the other.
  6.  
  7. Lower the antenna far enough to gain access to the antenna body.
  8.  
  9. While holding the antenna body, remove the antenna mast.
  10.  
  11. Pull the antenna body and cable from the fender.
  12.  
  13. Remove the adapter from the fender.
  14.  

To install:
  1. Route the antenna cable between the fender and firewall to the A-pillar.
  2.  
  3. Insert the mast through the hole in the fender and screw it into the antenna body.
  4.  
  5. Pull the assembly into position and hold it there.
  6.  
  7. Install the adapter and index the tab with the opening in the fender and antenna body.
  8.  
  9. Install the capnut and tighten it securely.
  10.  
  11. Insert the cable through the opening in the A-pillar.
  12.  
  13. From inside the glove box opening, pull the cable in far enough to snap the grommet into place.
  14.  
  15. Route the cable through the clip and plug it into the radio.
  16.  
  17. Install the glove box.
  18.  
  19. Connect the battery.
  20.
