On Chrysler 7 1 / 4 in. (184mm) and 8 1 / 4 in. (209.5mm) axles, a small stamped metal axle gear ratio identification tag is attached to the housing cover. The Rear Wheel Anti-Lock (RWAL) brake sensor is attached to the top, forward exterior of the differential housing. A seal is located between the sensor and the wire harness connector. This seal must be in place when the wire connector is connected to the sensor. The RWAL brake exciter ring is press fit onto the differential case against the flange. The Chrysler 8 3 / 8 in. (212.7mm) and 9 1 / 4 in. (235mm) axles can be fitted with a Sure-Grip differential. The Dana/Spicer axle can be fitted with a Trac-Lok differential. Both of the limited-slip differentials require a friction modifier to be added to the lubricant.
