Chrysler Full-Size Trucks 1997-2000 Repair Guide



The Vehicle Information Number (VIN) plate is located on the left (driver's side) upper panel of the dashboard and is visible through the lower left of the windshield. The VIN consists of 17 characters that represent codes supplying important information about your vehicle. This information may be useful when ordering replacement parts. Refer to the illustration of an example of VIN interpretation.

The eighth digit of the VIN indicates the engine type fitted.

The tenth digit of the VIN indicates vehicle model year.
