Windshield Washer Reservoir

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



RAM
  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable(s).
  2.  
  3. Drain the coolant below the level of the upper radiator hose.
  4.  
  5. Disconnect the upper radiator hose, taking care to catch any coolant left in the hose.
  6.  
  7. Disconnect the electrical connectors at pump and fluid level sensor, if equipped.
  8.  
  9. Disconnect the supply line and drain the fluid into a suitable container.
  10.  
  11. Pull the reservoir away from the fan shroud and lift the unit enough to disengage the mounting tabs from the shroud.
  12.  
  13. Installation is the reverse of removal.
  14.  

Dakota, Durango (Fan Shroud Reservoir)

For models with the reservoir incorporated into the upper fan shroud, proceed as follows:

  1. Disconnect the electrical connectors at pump and fluid level sensor, if equipped.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the supply line and drain the fluid into a suitable container.
  4.  
  5. Remove the upper fan shroud.
  6.  
  7. Installation is the reverse of removal.

Dakota, Durango (Fender-Mounted Reservoir)
  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the air filter housing.
  4.  
  5. Remove the screw that holds the reservoir to the inner fender.
  6.  
  7. Remove the two screws that hold the reservoir to the cowl plenum panel.
  8.  
  9. Move the reservoir forward to access the pump wiring. Unplug wires from the pump and fluid level sensor.
  10.  
  11. Disconnect the supply hose and drain the reservoir.
  12.  
  13. Remove the reservoir from the vehicle.
  14.  
  15. Installation is the reverse of removal. Tighten mounting screws to 24 inch lbs. (2.7 Nm).

Durango (Rear)
  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the right quarter trim panel.
  4.  
  5. Disconnect the washer supply hose from the check valve located on the inside surface of the right liftgate opening pillar near the liftgate opening header.
  6.  
  7. Disengage the washer supply hose from the retainers on the right liftgate opening pillar. Use the supply hose to siphon the washer fluid from the reservoir through the washer pump and into a clean container for reuse.
  8.  
  9. Remove the washer supply hose from the washer pump.
  10.  
  11. Unplug the wire harness connector.
  12.  
  13. Disconnect the vent hose.
  14.  
  15. Remove the two screws that secure the reservoir to the quarter inner panel and the liftgate opening sill panel.
  16.  
  17. Pull the washer reservoir away from the right liftgate opening pillar far enough to access and disconnect the fill hose.
  18.  
  19. Remove the reservoir.
  20.  
  21. Installation is the reverse of removal. Tighten the mounting screws to 20 inch lbs. (2.2 Nm).
