REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



1967-69 Models

  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the glove box.
  4.  
  5. Working through the glove box opening, disconnect the speaker wires, radio wiring and antenna cable.
  6.  
  7. Remove the control knobs, bezel screws, bezel and radio mounting nuts.
  8.  
  9. Working through the glove box opening again, loosen the radio support bracket retaining nut on the bottom of the radio.
  10.  
  11. Remove the 2 speaker mounting screws and remove the speaker and mounting plate through the glove box opening.
  12.  
  13. Working through the glove box opening, pull the radio support bracket away from the radio and pull the radio out.
  14.  
  15. Installation is the reverse of removal.
  16.  

1970-77 Models

  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the glove box.
  4.  
  5. On vans with air conditioning, remove the defroster duct.
  6.  
  7. Remove the radio bezel.
  8.  
  9. Unplug the antenna from the radio.
  10.  
  11. Remove the front mounting screws.
  12.  
  13. Working through the glove box, remove the rear radio mounting screws.
  14.  
  15. Push in on the radio to clear the lugs, tilt the front upwards and towards you to clear the rear mount bolt.
  16.  
  17. Turn the radio towards the glove box opening and disconnect the wiring.
  18.  
  19. On vans without air conditioning, remove the radio through the glove box opening.
  20.  

On vans with air conditioning, remove the radio through the front mount opening.

  1. Installation is the reverse of removal.
  2.  

1978-88 Models

  1. Remove the instrument cluster bezel.
  2.  
  3. Remove the radio mounting screws.
  4.  
  5. Remove the radio ground strap screw.
  6.  
  7. Pull the radio from the instrument panel just far enough to disconnect the wiring and antenna lead.
  8.  
  9. Installation is the reverse of removal.
  10.
