The automatic transmission identification number is stamped into a pad located on the driver's side of the transmission, just above the oil pan rail. The number includes a ten-digit part number, a four-digit build date and a four-digit serial number.

The NP-2300 manual transmission identification plate is attached to the driver's side of the transmission case.

The AX-13 manual transmission identification number is stamped into a pad located on the bottom surface of the gear case. The number starts with a three-digit build, while the remainder of the digits are the serial number.
