REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



Instrument Panel Speakers

See Figure 1

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the instrument panel top cover and cluster bezel by carefully prying it up off of the retaining clips.
  4.  
  5. Unfasten the speaker retaining screws.
  6.  
  7. Partially lift the speaker up, detach the electrical connector, then remove the speaker from the vehicle.
  8.

To install:
  1. Attach the electrical connector to the speaker, then position in the instrument panel.
  2.  
  3. Install the speaker retaining screws.
  4.  
  5. Install the instrument panel top cover and cluster bezel.
  6.  
  7. Connect the negative battery cable.
  8.  

Front Door Speakers

See Figure 4

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the door trim panel, as outlined in Body & Trim of this guide.
  4.  
  5. Remove the 3 speaker retaining screws.
  6.

  1. Partially lift the speaker out, detach the electrical connector, then remove the speaker from the door.

To install:
  1. Attach the electrical connector, then position the speaker in the door.
  2.  
  3. Install the 3 speaker retaining screws.
  4.  
  5. Install the door trim panel, as outlined in General Information & Maintenance 0 of this guide.
  6.  
  7. Connect the negative battery cable.
  8.  

Rear Speakers

See Figures 5 through 12

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the rear seat and seat back. Remove the seat cushion, seat back and seat belt anchor bolts.
  4.  
  5. Pry out the seat belt trim bezel along the rearward edge.
  6.  
  7. Partially remove the shelf trim panel, sliding it down to the seat back position.
  8.

  1. Remove the speaker retaining screws.

  1. Partially pull the speaker up out of its mounting position, then unplug the connector and remove the speaker from the vehicle.

  1. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure. After attaching the speaker wiring, it is a good idea to connect the negative battery cable and turn the radio on so you can see if the speakers work before you install the seats.
