Air Switching Valve (ASV) System

Print

OPERATION

See Figures 1, 2 and 3

In order to improve the levels of fuel economy as well as HC emissions during truck deceleration, the air switching valve which is activated by the carburetor ported vacuum cuts off the fuel flow to the bypass holes and pilot outlet by supplying additional air into the slow passage.

The activation of air switching valve is suspended by opening the solenoid valve, when the engine speeds at or below the specified value, in order to keep a smooth vehicle operation in transient phase and not to cause unexpected engine stalling.
