Lower Control Arms

Removal & Installation



  1. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
  2.  
  3. Remove the front wheel.
  4.  
  5. Remove the steering knuckle.
  6.  
  7. Remove the shock clevis bracket from the lower control arm.
  8.  
  9. Remove the stabilizer link at the lower control arm.
  10.  
  11. Remove the nut and bolt from the front of the lower control arm.
  12.  
  13. Remove the rear bolts and flag nuts from the lower control arm.
  14.  
  15. Remove the lower control arm from the vehicle.
  16.  

To install:

  1. Position the lower suspension arm into the frame rail bracket.
  2.  
  3. Install the rear bolts for the lower control arm to the frame and tighten to 65 ft. lbs. (88 Nm)..
  4.  
  5. Install the nut and bolt for the front of the lower control arm and tighten to 125 ft lbs (169 Nm).
  6.  
  7. Install the lower clevis bolt at the lower control arm and tighten to 125 ft. lbs. (169 Nm).
  8.  
  9. Install the stabilizer link at the lower control arm and tighten to 85 ft. lbs. (115 Nm).
  10.  
  11. Install the steering knuckle and tighten the nut to 70 ft. lbs. (95 Nm).
  12.  
  13. Install the front wheel.
  14.  
  15. Lower the vehicle.
  16.  
  17. Perform wheel alignment.
  18.
