Removal & Installation
Tail Lights
  1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
  2.  
  3. Open the liftgate to access and remove the two push-pins that secure the rear lamp unit to the side jamb of the liftgate opening.
  4.  
  5. Pull the outboard side of the rear lamp unit rearward far enough to unsnap the two ball studs on the outboard side of the lamp housing from the two plastic grommets in the quarter outer panel.
  6.  
  7. Pull the lamp away from the vehicle far enough to access and disengage the retainer on the body wire harness from the tab on the lower lamp housing.
  8.  
  9. Disconnect the body wire harness connector from the pigtail wire connector on the back of the lamp housing.
  10.  
  11. Remove the lamp from the lamp opening of the quarter outer panel.

To install:

  1. Check to be certain that the two plastic grommets are in good condition and properly installed in the quarter outer panel.
  2.  
  3. Position the rear lamp unit to the lamp opening of the quarter outer panel.
  4.  
  5. Reconnect the body wire harness connector to the lamp pigtail wire connector on the back of the lamp housing.
  6.  
  7. Engage the retainer on the body wire harness into the hole in the tab on the lower lamp housing.
  8.  
  9. Align the two ball studs on the outboard side of the lamp housing with the two grommets in the quarter outer panel.
  10.  
  11. Using hand pressure, push firmly and evenly on the outboard side of the lamp until both ball studs snap into the grommets.
  12.  
  13. Install the two push-pins that secure the rear lamp unit to the side jamb of the liftgate opening.
  14.  
  15. Reconnect the battery negative cable.
  16.  

Headlights



Removal & Installation
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Using the following procedure, remove the cover from over the top of the front lamp unit:
    1. Insert a finger into each of the two clearance holes in the front lamp unit cover and pull upward to unsnap the rear edge of the cover from the two upper lamp mounting brackets.
    2.  
    3. Slide the cover rearward to disengage the front edge from beneath the tab on the top near the front of the lamp housing.

  5. Using the following procedure, remove the grille and fascia from the front of the vehicle:
    1. Remove the 6 upper push pins that secure the grille.
    2.  
    3. Tip grill forward and remove grill.

    5. Remove the push pin fasteners along the top of the fascia.

    7. Remove the plastic rivets at each wheelhouse splash shield.
    8.  
    9. Remove the screws from inside the fascia.

    13. Disconnect the fog lamp electrical connectors, if equipped.

  7. If the front lamp being serviced is on the same side of the vehicle as the engine fresh air intake tube, unsnap the air intake tube from the air cleaner housing and remove it from between the lamp and the radiator yoke hydroform.

  9. Remove the three screws that secure the two lower and the upper inboard lamp mounting brackets to the front end sheet metal.

  11. Remove the push pin fastener that secures the upper outboard lamp mounting bracket to the top of the radiator yoke hydroform.
  12.  
  13. Pull the lamp away from the radiator yoke hydroform at the front of the vehicle far enough to access and disconnect the headlamp and dash wire harness connector from the pigtail connector on the back of the lamp housing.
  14.  
  15. Remove the lamp unit from the vehicle.

To install:

  1. Check to be certain that the three front lamp unit plastic nuts are properly installed and in good condition.
  2.  
  3. Position the lamp close enough to the front of the vehicle to reconnect the headlamp and dash wire harness connector to the pigtail connector on the back of the lamp housing.
  4.  
  5. Position the lamp to the front of the vehicle.
  6.  
  7. Install the push pin fastener that secures the upper outboard lamp mounting bracket to the top of the radiator yoke hydroform.
  8.  
  9. Install and tighten the three screws that secure the two lower and the upper inboard lamp mounting brackets to the front end sheet metal. Tighten the screws to 23 inch lbs. (3 Nm).

  11. If the engine fresh air intake tube was removed during lamp removal, position it between the lamp and the radiator yoke hydroform and snap it into the air cleaner housing.
  12.  
  13. Using the following procedure, install the fascia and grille onto the front of the vehicle:
    1. Position the fascia onto the vehicle and align the fascia flange slot onto the t-push pin.
    2.  
    3. Install the four upper push pin fasteners.

    5. Install the two upper screws on the inside of the fascia to the fender.

    7. Install the two lower screws.
    8.  
    9. Connect the fog lamp electrical connectors, if equipped.
    10.  
    11. Install new plastic rivets at each wheelhouse splash shield.
    12.  
    13. Tip grill and latch bottom of grill to front fascia.
    14.  
    15. Install the 6 upper mounting push pins.
    16.

  15. Reinstall the front lamp unit cover over the top of the lamp.
  16.  
  17. Reconnect the battery negative cable.
  18.  
  19. Confirm proper headlamp alignment.
