Removal & Installation

  1. Remove the instrument panel insulator, as follows:
    1. Remove the pushpins.
    2.  
    3. Disengage the courtesy lamp and remove the instrument panel insulator.

  3. Remove the passenger side scuff plate.
  4.  
  5. Remove the instrument panel upper finish panel and disconnect the A/C sunload sensor wire harness connector.

  7. Remove the screws retaining the RH and center instrument panel to the dash panel.
  8.  
  9. Remove the RH instrument panel-to-cowl retaining nut.
  10.  
  11. Disconnect the wire harness connector.
  12.  
  13. Remove the blower motor screws.
  14.  
  15. Pull the back on the instrument panel and remove the blower motor.

To install:

  1. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure. Observe the following tightening specifications:
    1. Blower motor nuts: 18-26 inch lbs. (2-3 Nm).
    2.  
    3. RH instrument panel-to-cowl retaining nut: 89-123 inch lbs. (10-14 Nm).
    4.  
    5. RH and center instrument panel-to-dash panel screws: 18-26 inch lbs. (2-3 Nm).

  1. Disengage the two pushpins retaining the instrument panel insulator to the instrument panel. Disconnect the courtesy lamp from the instrument panel insulator.

  3. Remove the passenger side scuff plate.
  4.  
  5. Remove the instrument panel upper finish panel (044A90) and disconnect the A/C sunload sensor wire harness connector.
  6.  
  7. Remove the screws retaining the passenger side and center instrument panel (04320) to the dash panel (01610).
  8.  
  9. Remove the passenger door trim panel, pull back the carpet and reposition the main wire harness connector and bracket to improve access to the blower motor.
  10.  
  11. Working from under the instrument panel, disconnect the electrical harness connector from the blower motor
  12.  
  13. Remove the passenger side instrument panel-to-cowl retaining nut.
  14.  
  15. Remove the three heater blower motor mounting plate screws. Remove the blower motor from the A/C evaporator housing.
  16.  
  17. Installation is the reverse of removal
