Washing, Waxing & Glass Care

Cleaners, Waxes & Polishes

Vehicle Washing

The car should be washed at regular intervals to remove dirt, dust, insects, and tar and other possibly damaging stains that can adhere to the paint and may cause damage. Proper exterior maintenance also helps in the resale value of the vehicle by maintaining its like-new appearance.

It is important to wash the vehicle frequently (including the undercarriage) if it is driven on salted roads. Removing the road salt will help prevent corrosion build-up and rust through.

Use a good, commercial quality, car wash. There are special additives and cleaners in this car wash that will not destroy the vehicles paint. Some household cleaners will mar the car's finish.

Vehicle Waxing

Before applying wax to the vehicles finish, make sure the car has been thoroughly washed.

Waxing procedures vary among automotive manufacturers and paint finishes. Be careful what type of wax you purchase and intend to use on your car. A wax that has a heavy cleaner may actually remove the paint and dull the shine.
