Operation

Specific to:

Toyota Corolla 2006-2008

In order to obtain a high purification rate of the carbon monoxide (CO), hydrocarbon (HC) and nitrogen oxide (NOx) components in the exhaust gas, a TWC is used. For the most efficient use of the TWC, the air-fuel ratio must be precisely controlled so that it is always close to the stoichiometric air-fuel level. For the purpose of helping the ECM to deliver accurate air-fuel ratio control, a Heated Oxygen (HO2) sensor is used

Removal & Installation

Specific to:

Toyota Corolla 2006-2008

  1. Disconnect heated oxygen sensor connector.
  2.
  3. Using correct service tool remove heated oxygen sensor.
  4.

Check connections at all oxygen sensor connections and ECM. Check for exhaust leaks, restricted or modified exhaust. If any of these are present, repair, clear codes, and retest.

NOTE
Proper testing of heated oxygen sensor requires active tasks of fuel control system by an Intelligent tester scan tool. Without proper tester, accurate oxygen sensor testing is not possible.
