Control Module



Removal & Installation
Except SRT
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect battery negative cable from battery and properly isolate to prevent accidental reconnection.
  4.  
  5. Remove or disconnect the following:

    Radiator fan control module harness connector (2)
     
    Retaining nuts at the top and bottom of the cooling fan module (1)
     
    Cooling fan module from the engine compartment

  6.  

To install:

  1. Position the radiator fan control module on the inner fender well studs.
  2.  
  3. Install or connect the following:

    Upper and lower retaining nuts and tighten to 89 inch lbs. (10 Nm)
     
    Radiator fan control module harness
     
    Negative battery cable
     

  4.  

Fan Switch



Removal & Installation

The electric fan switch consists of a radiator fan control module, electrical connector and retaining bolt.

Except SRT
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect battery negative cable from battery and properly isolate to prevent accidental reconnection.
  4.  
  5. Remove or disconnect the following:

    Radiator fan control module harness connector (2)
     
    Retaining nuts at the top and bottom of the cooling fan module (1)
     
    Cooling fan module from the engine compartment

  6.  

To install:

  1. Position the radiator fan control module on the inner fender well studs.
  2.  
  3. Install or connect the following:

    Upper and lower retaining nuts and tighten to 89 inch lbs. (10 Nm)
     
    Radiator fan control module harness
     
    Negative battery cable
     

  4.  

SRT
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect battery negative cable from battery and properly isolate to prevent accidental reconnection.
  4.  
  5. Remove or disconnect the following:

    Radiator fan control module harness connector located next to the air pump in the left front of the vehicle
     
    Retaining nuts at the top and bottom of the cooling fan module (1)
     
    Cooling fan module from the engine compartment

  6.  

To install:

  1. Position the radiator fan control module (1) on the inner fender well studs next to the air pump (2).
  2.  
  3. Install or connect the following:

    Upper and lower retaining nuts and tighten to 89 inch lbs. (10 Nm)
     
    Radiator fan control module harness
     
    Negative battery cable
     

  4.  

Removal & Installation



  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect battery negative cable from battery and properly isolate to prevent accidental reconnection.
  4.  
  5. Remove or disconnect the following:

    Radiator fan harness connector
     
    Coolant return hose from the mounting bracket
     
    Radiator fan hold down clamps with suitable tool
     

  6.  
  7. Carefully pry the upper radiator hose and return hoses away from the cooling fan.
  8.  
  9. Gently lift the radiator fan up and out of the vehicle.

To install:


NOTE
Lightly lubricate the two locating studs on the bottom of the radiator fan prior to installation.

  1. Gently lower the radiator fan into the vehicle.
  2.  
  3. Carefully pry the upper radiator hose and return hoses away from the cooling fan.
  4.  
  5. Install the radiator fan locating studs into the lower rubber mounts.
  6.  
  7. Install the radiator fan hold down clamps.
  8.  
  9. Route the coolant return hose through the bracket on the radiator fan.
  10.  
  11. Connect the radiator fan harness connector.
  12.  
  13. Connect the negative battery cable.
  14.
