Bleeding




NOTE
Only pour fluid into suitable and appropriately marked containers. Wear protective clothing and safety glasses when handling fluid.

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Remove the master cylinder reservoir cap.
  4.  
  5. Connect a pressure bleeder to the master cylinder reservoir.
  6.  
  7. Raise and support the vehicle safely.
  8.  
  9. Remove the bleeder screw rubber access plug.
  10.  
  11. Remove the bleeder screw rubber cap.
  12.  
  13. Open the bleeder screw on the slave cylinder.
  14.  
  15. Allow the fluid to flow until there are no bubbles and the fluid is clear.
  16.  
  17. Close the bleeder screw.
  18.  
  19. Install the rubber cap and access plug.
  20.  
  21. Lower the vehicle.
  22.  
  23. Disconnect the pressure bleeder. Install the master cylinder reservoir cap.
  24.  
  25. Check the operation of the clutch, correct as required.

Master Cylinder
Bench Bleeding Procedure
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Connect a pressure bleeder to the brake master cylinder.
  4.  
  5. Open the bleed screw on the clutch slave cylinder.
  6.  
  7. Allow the fluid to flow until there are no bubbles and the fluid is clear.
  8.  
  9. Close the bleed screw and disconnect the pressure bleeder.
  10.  
  11. Check the clutch for proper operation.
