Removal & Installation

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  4.  
  5. Partially drain the cooling system. Be sure to collect and dispose of used coolant, as required.
  6.  
  7. Remove the engine cover.
  8.  
  9. Disconnect the sensor electrical connector.
  10.  
  11. Pull up on the sensor retaining clip. Slide the sensor out of the housing.
  12.  
  13. Remove the sensor from its mounting.
  14.  

To install:

  1. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
  2.  
  3. Use a small amount of petroleum jelly to lubricate the sensor seal.
  4.  
  5. Be sure to fill the engine with the proper grade and type coolant.
  6.  
  7. Start the engine and check for leaks.

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.

  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  4.  
  5. Partially drain the cooling system. Be sure to collect and dispose of used coolant, as required.

  7. Remove the engine cover.
  8.  
  9. Remove the air pump tube retaining bolts. Remove the air pump from the engine.
  10.  
  11. Remove the tension on the accessory drive belt. Remove the drive belt.
  12.  
  13. Remove the supercharger idler pulley upper retaining bolt and lower retaining bolt. Remove the idler pulley.
  14.  
  15. Remove the accessory drive belt idler pulley.
  16.  
  17. Disconnect the sensor electrical connector.
  18.  
  19. Pull up on the sensor retaining clip. Slide the sensor out of the housing.
  20.  
  21. Remove the sensor from its mounting.
  22.  

To install:

  1. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
  2.  
  3. Use a small amount of petroleum jelly to lubricate the sensor seal.
  4.  
  5. Tighten the accessory drive belt idler pulley bolt to 15 ft. lbs.
  6.  
  7. Tighten the supercharger idler pulley bolts to 15 ft. lbs.
  8.  
  9. Be sure to fill the engine with the proper grade and type coolant.
  10.  
  11. Start the engine and check for leaks.
