  8.

To install:

  1. Position the blend door actuator onto the HVAC housing. If necessary, rotate the actuator slightly to align the splines on the actuator output sleeve with those on the blend door linkage.
  2.
  3. Install the screws that secure the blend door actuator to the HVAC housing. Tighten the screws to 2 Nm (17 in. lbs.).
  4.
  5. Connect the HVAC wire harness connector to the blend door actuator.
  6.
  7. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
  8.

NOTE
The blend door actuator cannot be adjusted or repaired and, if damaged or faulty, must be replaced. After installation the new actuator must be calibrated using a scan tool.

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
  2.
  3. Remove the instrument panel.
  4.
  5. Remove the three screws that secure the blend door actuator to the top of the HVAC housing.
  6.
  7. Disconnect the HVAC wire harness connector (4) from the blend door actuator.
  8.
  9. Remove the blend door actuator from the HVAC housing.

To install:

  1. Position the blend door actuator onto the top of the HVAC housing. If necessary, rotate the actuator slightly to align the splines on the actuator output shaft with those on the blend-air door linkage.
  2.
  3. Install the three screws that secure the blend door actuator to the HVAC housing. Tighten the screws to 2 Nm (17 in. lbs.).
  4.
  5. Connect the HVAC wire harness connector to the blend door actuator.
  6.
  7. Install the instrument panel.
  8.
  9. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
  10.
  11. Calibrate the actuator using a scan tool.
  12.

Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable before beginning any airbag system component diagnosis, testing, removal, or installation procedures. Allow system capacitor to discharge for two minutes before beginning any component service. This will disable the airbag system. Failure to disable the airbag system may result in accidental airbag deployment, personal injury, or death.
