Blower Motor

Removal & Installation



  1. Remove the console assembly.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the blower motor.
  4.  
  5. Turn over the console assembly.
  6.  
  7. Remove the three retaining screws.
  8.  
  9. Remove the blower motor assembly.

To install:

  1. Install the blower motor into the console.
  2.  
  3. Install the three retaining screws and tighten to 88 inch lbs. (10 Nm).
  4.  
  5. Connect the electrical connectors.
  6.  
  7. Install the console assembly.
  8.  

  1. Remove the left and right console side panels.

  3. Disconnect the console harness connector.
  4.  
  5. Disconnect the rear blower motor assembly electrical connectors.
  6.  
  7. Disconnect the air duct from the rear blower motor.
  8.  
  9. Remove the rear blower motor retaining bracket nuts.
  10.  
  11. Remove the bolts retaining the rear blower bracket to the Instrument Panel.
  12.  
  13. Remove the rear blower motor retaining bracket studs.
  14.  
  15. Remove the rear blower motor insulator from under the rear blower motor assembly.
  16.  
  17. Push the rear blower motor assembly down.
  18.  
  19. Push the rear blower motor assembly forward to disengage the rear air duct.
  20.  
  21. Remove the rear blower motor assembly out the passenger side of console.

To install:

  1. Install the rear blower to its original position.
  2.  
  3. Engage the rear air duct.
  4.  
  5. Install the rear blower motor insulator under the rear blower motor assembly.
  6.  
  7. Install the rear blower motor retaining bracket studs.
  8.  
  9. Install the bolts retaining the rear blower bracket to the Instrument Panel.
  10.  
  11. Install the rear blower motor retaining bracket nuts.
  12.  
  13. Connect the air duct to the rear blower motor.
  14.  
  15. Connect the rear blower motor assembly electrical connectors.
  16.  
  17. Connect the console harness electrical connector.
  18.  
  19. Install the left and right console side panels.
  20.  

  1. Remove the console assembly.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the blower motor.
  4.  
  5. Turn over the console assembly.
  6.  
  7. Remove the three retaining screws.
  8.  
  9. Remove the blower motor assembly.

To install:

  1. Install the blower motor into the console.
  2.  
  3. Install the three retaining screws and tighten to 88 inch lbs. (10 Nm).
  4.  
  5. Connect the electrical connectors.
  6.  
  7. Install the console assembly.
  8.  

  1. Remove the instrument panel.
  2.  
  3. Remove the left and right carpet retainers.
  4.  
  5. Remove the front carpeting in order to access the rear ducts.
  6.  
  7. Remove the ducts from the rear blower center support assembly.
  8.  
  9. Remove the auxiliary blower motor nuts retaining the rear blower/Instrument Panel center support assembly to the floor.
  10.  
  11. Remove the rear blower center support assembly from the vehicle.
  12.  
  13. Remove the rear blower motor from the center support assembly.
  14.  

To install:


NOTE
The ignition must be in the OFF position when connecting the electrical connectors to ensure proper actuator calibration.

  1. Install the rear blower motor to the center support assembly.
  2.  
  3. Install the rear blower center support assembly.
  4.  
  5. Install the nuts that retain the auxiliary blower motor center support assembly to the vehicle floor.
  6.  
  7. Tighten the nuts to 80 inch lbs. (9 Nm).
  8.  
  9. Install the ducts to the rear blower center support assembly.
  10.  
  11. Install the front carpeting.
  12.  
  13. Install the left and right carpet retainers.
  14.  
  15. Install the instrument panel.
    NOTE
    Do not adjust any controls on the HVAC control module while the HVAC control module is self-calibrating. If interrupted improper HVAC performance will result. The engine must be running for proper calibration to occur.

  17. Start the engine and let run for one minute.
