The driveshaft is a one-piece tubular shaft with two universal joints, one at each end. The front joint yoke serves as a slip yoke on the transmission output shaft. The rear universal joint is the type that must be disassembled to be removed. The rear axle is a live, or solid, type. Numerous rear axle ratios and several rear axles have been used, depending on the application. See for rear axle identification. In addition, a limited-slip feature has been available. Chrysler calls this Sure-Grip.
