  1. Drain the radiator, disconnect the radiator hoses, disconnect the battery, and remove the oil dipstick. Remove the fan shroud attaching screws, and loop the shroud rearward over the engine. Jack up the vehicle and drain the oil.
  2.  
  3. Remove the steering arm center link. Disconnect the idler arm ball joints.
  4.  
  5. Disconnect the exhaust pipe from the manifold and secure it out of the way.
  6.  
  7. Support the block with a jack and wooden block. Remove the front engine mounts and raise the engine 1 1 / 2 to 2 inches. Take out the oil pan attaching bolts. Rotate the engine crankshaft in order to clear the counterweights. Remove the oil pan.
  8.  
  9. To install the pan, reverse the removal procedure. Tighten the pan bolts to 200 in. lbs. Use a new gasket.

  1. Disconnect the battery and remove the dipstick.
  2.  
  3. Jack up the vehicle and drain the oil. Remove the torque converter-to-engine left housing strut.
  4.  
  5. Remove the idler arms and steering linkage ball joints from the center link.
  6.  
  7. Disconnect the exhaust pipe(s) from the manifold and move it out of the way.
  8.  
  9. Place a jack under the transmission and remove transmission-to-rear engine mount bolts. Raise the transmission to clear the oil pan. Remove the oil pan bolts and the oil pan.
  10.  
  11. To install the pan, be sure that the oil strainer will touch the bottom of the pan.
  12.  
  13. Using a new gasket, install the oil pan. Tighten the bolts to 200 in. lbs. On 360 engines, be certain that the notches on the side gaskets overlap the rear seal.
  14.  
  15. Install the engine-to-converter housing strut.
  16.  
  17. From this point, reverse the removal procedure.
