The Aspen/Volare front suspension is of a unique design. Transverse torsion bars are used on these cars in place of the traditional Chrysler longitudinal torsion bars. The torsion bars react on the outboard ends of the lower control arms. The torsion bars are anchored in the front crossmember opposite the wheel on which they react. Upper and lower control arms locate the wheel spindle. A stabilizer bar is used to resist front roll and to act as the lower control arm strut.
