The VIN is made up of thirteen digits. The first digit identifies the car line, the second the price class, and the third and fourth digits body style. Engine displacement is identified by the fifth digit. Model year and assembly plant are shown by the sixth and seventh digits. The last six digits are the sequential serial number.
