  1. Discharge the A/C refrigerant system safely (see ).
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  4.  
  5. Remove the evaporator drain hose.
  6.  
  7. Disconnect the liquid and suction refrigerant lines from the evaporator (engine side). Remove the firewall insulator O-rings.
  8.  
  9. Remove the glove box and dash trim insert.
  10.  
  11. Remove the heater ducts and disconnect the duct joints from the heater case.
  12.  
  13. Disconnect the switch and main wire harness from the evaporator.
  14.  
  15. Remove the evaporator case mounting nuts and bolts, lower the case assembly and remove it from the vehicle.
  16.  
  17. Separate the case halves by removing the spring clips. Remove the expansion valve and other components to free the evaporator core from the case mounting.
  18.  

To install:

  1. Install the evaporator, connect components and the expansion valve.
  2.  
  3. Assemble the evaporator case and mount in under the dash.
  4.  
  5. Connect the wiring harness, duct connections to the heater and install the ducts.
  6.  
  7. Install the glove box and trim panel.
  8.  
  9. Install the firewall insulators. Connect the refrigerant lines using new O-rings lubricated with refrigerant oil.
  10.  
  11. Connect the evaporator drain hose. Connect the negative battery cable. Charge the A/C refrigerant system.
