Dodge Colt/Challenger/Conquest/Vista 1971-1989 Repair Guide

The front suspension consists of MacPherson struts, lower control arms and a stabilizer bar. The strut assembly performs several suspension functions: It provides the steering knuckle mounting, the concentric coil acts as the springing medium, the integral shock absorber provides dampening and the strut assembly locates the wheel. The stabilizer bar minimizes body roll when cornering. The lower control arm acts to longitudinally locate the suspension/wheel.
