Windshield Wiper Switch

On most late models, the wiper switch is integral with the turn signal switch. For wiper switch service on those cars, follow the procedures under Turn Signal Switch, in .

1979-82 Models
  1. Remove the instrument cluster hood screws. Leave the wiring connector alone.
  2.  
  3. Remove the corner panel.
  4.  
  5. Disconnect the cluster hood connector and remove the hood.
  6.  
  7. Remove the knob from the switch and remove the switch from the hood.
  8.  
  9. Place the switch in position and secure it. Install the knob. Install the hood, corner panel.
  10.  

1983-84 Models
  1. Remove the instrument cluster.
  2.  
  3. Pull out on the wiper switch knob to remove it.
  4.  
  5. Remove the two attaching screws and pull the switch from the panel.
  6.  
  7. Secure the switch, install the knob. Install the cluster.
  8.  

1985-89 Models
  1. Remove the steering wheel.
  2.  
  3. Remove the steering column cover.
  4.  
  5. Pull the knob off of the switch.
  6.  
  7. Remove the two mounting screws and pull the switch out.
  8.  
  9. Secure the switch. Install the knob and steering column cover. Install the steering wheel.
