Turn Signal and Flasher Switch

  1. Remove the steering wheel as previously outlines.
  2.  
  3. Remove the instrument cluster using the procedure in .
  4.  
  5. Undo the retaining screws and remove the top and bottom steering column covers.
  6.  
  7. Disconnect each column switch harness, then remove the column switch from the column tube.
  8.  
  9. Remove the switch assembly retaining screws from the back of the column switch.
  10.  
  11. Remove the turn signal and flasher switch contact points.
  12.  

To install:

  1. Examine the switch contact points for corrosion. Clean or replace them as necessary.
  2.  
  3. Install the switch. Be sure that the switch is centered in the column or the self-cancelling will be affected. The switch wiring harness should be securely retained with clips.
  4.  

Front Wheel Drive Cars
  1. Remove the steering wheel.
  2.  
  3. Remove the lap heater duct.
  4.  
  5. Remove the column covers.
  6.  
  7. Remove the switch retaining screws, disconnect the wiring and remove the switch.
  8.  
  9. Install the switch. Connect the wiring. Install the column covers, heater duct and steering wheel.
