Only gasoline with a 91 Research Octane Number (RON) or an octane value of 87 (or higher) if using the (R+M)/2 method, should be used. Unleaded gasoline must be used in those cars with a catalytic converter. These cars have specially designed filler necks that prevent the direct insertion of the leaded gasoline pump nozzle.
Avoid the constant use of fuel system cleaning agents. Many of these materials contain highly active solvents that will deteriorate the gasket and diaphragm materials used on these carburetors.
