Windshield Washer Reservoir and Pump

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



Front
  1. Open the hood and disconnect the wiring harness from the pump.
  2.

  1. Remove the sheet metal screws holding the reservoir to the inner fender shield.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the washer hose and remove the reservoir. Keep your thumb over the liquid outlet to avoid spilling the washer solvent on painted surfaces.
  4.  
  5. Drain the reservoir to remove the pump. Insert a 19 / 32 in. socket and extension through the filler opening and remove the pump filter and nut.
  6.  
  7. Disconnect the outside portion of the pump and remove the inner and outer portions of the pump.
  8.  
  9. Installation is the reverse of removal. Be sure the rubber grommet is in place when installing the pump.

Rear
  1. Open the liftgate.
  2.  
  3. Remove the plastic cap and mounting retainer from the reservoir filler on the right side of the liftgate. Reach through the side drain and remove the sheet metal screws.

  1. Disconnect the wiring from the pump.
  2.  
  3. Remove the 2 side panel reservoir mounting screws.
  4.  
  5. Disconnect the washer hose from the reservoir.
  6.  
  7. Remove the reservoir and pump from the side panel through the aperture panel access hole. Try not to spill windshield washer solvent on the paint.
  8.  
  9. Drain the reservoir to remove the pump. Insert a 19 / 32 in. socket and extension through the filler opening and remove the pump filter and nut.
  10.  
  11. Disconnect the outside portion of the pump and remove the inner and outer parts of the pump.
  12.  
  13. Installation is the reverse of removal. Be sure the rubber grommet is in place when installing the pump.
