NOTE
The CAB (Controller Anti-Lock Brake) and ABM (Anti-Lock Brake Module) perform the same basic functions controlling brake operation.

Removal & Installation




NOTE
If the CAB is being replaced with a new CAB it must be reprogrammed with the use of a DRB III.

  1. Disconnect battery negative cable.
  2.  
  3. Release the CAB harness connector locks, and remove the harness connectors from the CAB.
  4.  
  5. Disconnect the pump motor connector.
  6.  
  7. Remove screws attaching CAB to the HCU.
  8.  
  9. Remove the CAB.

To install:

  1. Place the CAB onto the HCU.
    NOTE
    Insure the CAB seal is in position before installation.

  2.  
  3. Install the mounting screws and tighten to 4-4.7 Nm (36-42 inch lbs.).
  4.  
  5. Connect the pump motor harness.
  6.  
  7. Connect the harnesses to the CAB and lock the connectors.
  8.  
  9. Connect battery.
  10.  


NOTE
If the ABM is being replaced with a new ABM it must be reprogrammed with the use of a scan tool.

  1. Remove the HCU from the vehicle
  2.  
  3. Remove the module mounting screws.
  4.  
  5. Disconnect the pump electrical connector from the HCU.
  6.  
  7. Remove the module from the HCU.
  8.  

To install:

  1. Position the module on the HCU.
  2.  
  3. Install the mounting screws and tighten to 6 Nm (53 in. lbs).
  4.  
  5. Install the pump electrical connector to the module.
  6.  
  7. Install the HCU to the vehicle.
  8.
