Removal & Installation

  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable.
  2.  
  3. Reach under the instrument panel on the driver's side near the transmission tunnel and unplug the heater-A/C control to housing vacuum harness connector.
  4.  
  5. Disengage the retainer on the heater-A/C control half of the vacuum harness from the hole in the center of the distribution duct.
  6.  
  7. Remove the cluster bezel from the instrument panel.
  8.  
  9. Remove the screws that secure the control panel to the instrument panel.
  10.  
  11. Pull out the assembly far enough to access the connections at the back of the control.
  12.  
  13. Unplug the wiring.
  14.  
  15. Disconnect the cable, if fitted.
  16.  
  17. If a vacuum unit is fitted, remove the two stamped nuts that secure the vacuum harness connector and unplug the connector.
  18.  
  19. Installation is the reverse of removal.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the center bezel from the instrument panel, disconnect the wire harness connector(s) from the A/C-heater control and place the center bezel on a workbench.
  4.  
  5. Remove the four screws that secure the A/C heater control to the instrument panel center bezel.
  6.  
  7. Remove the A/C heater control from the instrument panel center bezel.

to install:

  1. Position the A/C heater control into the instrument panel center bezel.
  2.  
  3. Install the screws that secure the A/C heater control to the instrument panel center bezel. Tighten the screws to 2 Nm (17 inch lbs.).
  4.  
  5. Connect the wire harness connector(s) to the A/C heater control and install the instrument panel center bezel.
  6.  
  7. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
  8.
