  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions.
  2.  
  3. Remove lower engine compartment paneling.
  4.  
  5. Slacken poly-V belt and remove.
  6.  
  7. Detach connector.
  8.  
  9. Drain air conditioning (recycle).
  10.  
  11. Remove bolts, remove suction line and pressure line and place to one side.
  12.  
  13. Remove bolts and remove refrigerant compressor downwards.

To install:

  1. Installation is the reverse of removal.
  2.  
  3. Correct the oil level in the refrigerant compressor.
  4.  
  5. Install new O-ring and moisten thread with compressor oil.
  6.  
  7. Tighten bolts/nuts to specification as follows:

    Refrigerant line to compressor: 15 ft. lbs. (20 Nm)
     
    Bolt, refrigerant compressor to bracket: 15 ft. lbs. (20 Nm)
     

  8.  
  9. Evacuate and fill air conditioning system and add new compressor oil to refrigerant circuit, using noted quantity of compressor oil. Check air conditioning system for leakage.
