Power Windows



Diagnosis & Testing
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions.
  2.  
  3. Remove the switch.
  4.  
  5. Inspect terminals for poor connections, loose wires, bent, broken, or corroded pins, and then verify that the connector is securely fastened.
  6.  
  7. Check for battery voltage at the lead wire of connection to the switch.
    1. If battery voltage is absent, check the fuse.
    2.  
    3. If battery voltage is present, check through the switch for power delivery.
    4.  
    5. Replace switch if faulty.
    6.

  9. Check for battery voltage at the motor.
    1. If battery voltage is absent, check wiring.
    2.  
    3. If battery voltage is present, the motor may be faulty.
    4.

Removal & Installation
Motor & Regulator
Front Door
E-Class (210)
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions.
  2.  
  3. Remove door liner on front door.

  5. Partially pull foil off of door liner from bottom toward top until Torx socket bolt is visible.
  6.  
  7. Disconnect connector from power window motor.
  8.  
  9. Unscrew Torx socket bolts.
  10.  
  11. Remove power window motor.

To install:

  1. Installation is the reverse of removal.
  2.  
  3. Before installing grease gear on motor from door lightly.
  4.  
  5. When installing observe hole pattern for mounting.
  6.  
  7. Tighten screws for power window motor in front door to 11 ft. lbs. (13 Nm).

Rear Door
E-Class (210)
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions.
  2.  
  3. Remove door liner on rear door.

  5. Partially pull foil off of door liner from bottom toward top until Torx socket bolt is visible.
  6.  
  7. Disconnect connector from power window motor.
  8.  
  9. Unscrew Torx socket bolts.
  10.  
  11. Remove power window motor.

To install:

  1. Installation is the reverse of removal.

Switch
E-Class (210)

NOTE
The center console switch group can only be replaced as a unit. Individual switches cannot be serviced.

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions.
  2.  
  3. Unclip shift lever covering.
  4.  
  5. Unclip cover toward top/bottom.
  6.  
  7. Pull off connector.
  8.  
  9. Unclip center console switch group.

To install:
