Remove the radiator cap from the water outlet.
CAUTIONTo avoid the danger of being burned, do not remove it while the engine and radiator are still hot, as fluid and steam can be blown out under pressure. Loosen the radiator drain plug and engine drain plugs, and drain the coolant.
- Close the drain plugs.
Slowly fill the system with engine coolant.
NOTEUse a good brand of ethylene-glycol base engine coolant and mix it according to the manufacturer-s directions. Using engine coolant which includes more than 50% ethylene-glycol (but not more than 70%) is recommended.
WARNINGDo not use alcohol type or plain water. The engine coolant should be mixed with de-mineralized water or distilled water.
- Reinstall the radiator cap to the water outlet.
- Warm up the engine and check for leaks.
- Recheck the engine coolant level and refill as necessary.
