Tie Rod Ends



  1. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
  2.  
  3. Remove the front wheels.
  4.  
  5. Remove the cotter pin and locknut.

  7. Remove the cotter pin and nut from the tie rod end.
  8.  
  9. Using a tie rod end puller, disconnect the tie rod from the steering knuckle.

  10.  

To install:

  1. Connect the tie rod end to the steering knuckle and tighten the nut to 36 ft. lbs. (49 Nm).
  2.  
  3. Install a new cotter pin. If the cotter pin hole does not line up, correct by tightening the nut by the smallest amount possible.
