If you do not find any trouble, inspect for mechanical conditions or binding that may be temperature related. Components may not move freely in extreme heat or cold due to the presence of contaminants or ice formation.

Possible Causes:



The PCM compares the signal of each of the accelerator pedal position sensor to each other throughout the entire range of operation. Clear the DTCs and actuate the pedal through the entire range with the ignition ON and the engine OFF.
 
Use the J 35616 Connector Test Adapter Kit for any test that requires probing the PCM harness connector or a component harness connector. Using this kit will prevent damage to the harness connector terminals.
 
An intermittent short to ground on the fuel level low reference or any low reference circuit may set this code.
 
For intermittent conditions, refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections .

Accelerator Pedal Position (APP) Sensor 1-2 Correlation

Minimum Throttle Position Not Learned

Possible Causes:

The throttle valve is spring loaded to a slightly open position. The throttle valve should be open approximately 20 percent. This is referred to as the rest position. The throttle valve should not be completely closed nor should they be open any more than the specified amount. The throttle valve should move open and to the closed position without binding under the normal spring pressure. The throttle should NOT be free to move open or closed WITHOUT spring pressure. Replace the throttle body if any of these conditions are found. Important: Operating the throttle blade with the Throttle Blade Control function of the scan tool may cause additional DTCs to set. Do not attempt to diagnose DTCs set during this function. The scan tool has the ability to operate the throttle control system using Special Functions. Actuate the throttle valve using the throttle blade control function located in the TAC System menu. This function will operate the throttle valve through the entire range in order to determine if the throttle body and system operate correctly. Check for the following conditions:



Use the J 35616 Connector Test Adapter Kit for any test that requires probing the PCM harness connector or a component harness connector.
 
Poor connections at the PCM or at the component--Inspect the harness connectors for a poor terminal to wire connection. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections for the proper procedure.
 
For intermittents, refer to Intermittent Conditions .

If all circuit tests are OK, ensure the transmission pass through connector and harness terminals are clean and not damaged, and the charging system is functioning correctly.
 
Verify there is a good connection at the body control module (BCM) especially if DTC P0700 is also set with this code.

Possible Causes:



This diagnostic trouble code may set due to low system voltage. Ensure that the vehicle battery has passed a load test and is completely charged. Refer to Battery Inspection/Test . Verify charging system is operating correctly. Refer to Charging System Test . Verify there is no parasitic drain on the battery. Refer to Battery Electrical Drain/Parasitic Load Test .

Inspect the connectors at the PCM, the TCC enable solenoid valve, and all other circuit connecting points for an intermittent condition. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections .
 
Inspect the circuit wiring for an intermittent condition. Refer to Testing for Electrical Intermittents .
 
Inspect for a disconnected TCC enable solenoid valve connector.
 
Inspect for an open TCC enable solenoid valve circuit.
 
Inspect for a faulty TCC enable solenoid valve.
 
Inspect for a PCM internal fault.

Possible Causes:



Verify that the input speed sensor (ISS) and the output speed sensor (OSS) are functioning properly.
 
In 3rd gear at approximately 64 km/h (40 mph), command TCC ON. If functioning properly the OSS will track ISS and the engine RPM.
 
If not, refer to DTC P0716 for the ISS and DTC P0723 for the OSS.
 

Trouble Code: P2771



Four Wheel Drive (4WD) Low Switch Circuit

Possible Causes:

A malfunctioning speed sensor could cause DTC P2771 to set.



Verify that the input speed sensor (ISS) and the OSS are functioning properly.
 
In 3rd gear at approximately 64 km/h (40 mph), command TCC ON. If functioning properly the OSS will track ISS and the engine RPM. If not refer to DTC P0716 for the ISS and DTC P0723 for the OSS.
 
If the speed sensors pass testing, refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections .
