Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor
The Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor measures intake manifold absolute pressure. The PCM uses information from the MAP sensor to measure how much exhaust gas is introduced into the intake manifold. The MAP sensor may also be referred to as TMAP sensor.
Removal & Installation
Disconnect the electrical connector from the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor.
Remove the MAP sensor mounting screws.
To install, reverse the removal procedure
Check the voltage supply to the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor by measuring the MAP sensor harness side VREF to SIGRTN The voltage reading should read 4.5-5.5 volts. If reading is not as specified check the VREF to battery ground. If the voltage reading is present 4.5-5.5 volts. Check for open in SIGRTN circuit.
