No adjustment is required or possible. If the tire and wheel (hub) is loose on the spindle, does not rotate freely, or has a rough feeling when spun, install a new wheel bearing.
Removal & Installation
Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
NOTEIf removing the wheel hub, the wheel bearing must be replaced.
Remove the wheel knuckle.
Using the special tool, press the wheel hub from the wheel bearing.
NOTEThis step may not be necessary if the inner wheel bearing race remains in the wheel knuckle after removing the wheel hub.
- Using the special tool, press the inner wheel bearing race from the wheel hub.
Remove the snapring.
- Using the special tools, press the outer wheel bearing race from the wheel knuckle.
Position the wheel knuckle in a vise.
NOTESpecial Tool 205-278 is not seen in place. It is located behind the wheel knuckle.
- Using the special tools, install the wheel bearing into the wheel knuckle.
- Install the snapring.
Using the special tool, press the wheel hub into the wheel bearing.
- Install the wheel knuckle.
