Lower Control Arms


Removal & Installation

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
  3. Position a floor jackstand beneath the rear suspension crossmember.
  5. Remove or disconnect the following:

    Wheel and tire assembly
    Stabilizer nuts, washers, bushings, sleeves and bolts
    Bolts securing the stabilizer bar brackets and grommets to the rear suspension crossmember
    Stabilizer bar
    Bolts securing the rear suspension crossmember to the vehicle frame

  7. Lower the floor jackstand to allow the rear suspension crossmember to be lowered from the vehicle frame.

To install:

  1. Install or connect the following:

    Control arm into position
    Retaining bolt and tighten it to 50-70 ft. lbs. (68-95 Nm)
    Control arm and bushing retaining nut, then tighten the nut to 64-86 ft. lbs. (87-116 Nm)

  3. Raise the floor jack and place the crossmember into position.

    Crossmember bolts and tighten them to 34-46 ft. lbs. (47-62 Nm)
    Grommets onto the stabilizer bar and align the grommets to the positions painted on the bar
    Stabilizer bar to the rear suspension crossmember and secure it in place with the straps and bolts. Tighten the bolts to 32-43 ft. lbs. (43-59 Nm).
    Stabilizer bolts, washers, grommets, sleeves and nuts. Tighten the stabilizer nuts so 0.64-0.71 in. (16.2-18.2mm) of thread is exposed at the end of the bolt.

  5. Check the wheel alignment.
