Fill the power steering pump reservoir with Motorcraft Type F automatic transmission, or power steering fluid that meets ESW-M2C33-F specifications.
See Figures 1, 2, 3 and 4
Before attempting to check the fluid level, first clean all dirt from the outside of the power steering pump reservoir before removing the cap. Start the engine and allow it to reach normal operating temperature, then turn the steering wheel from lock-to-lock several times to bleed any air out of the system. Turn the engine OFF and check the fluid level on the power steering pump dipstick. The level should be within the FULL HOT scale on the dipstick. If necessary, top the reservoir up with fluid that meets Ford specification ESW-M2C33-F, such as Motorcraft Automatic Transmission or power steering fluid Type F. Do not overfill.
