Brake Pressure Control Valves

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



This procedure applies only to vehicles without Anti-Lock brakes. On vehicles with Anti-Lock brakes, the valve is contained inside the Anti-Lock hydraulic control unit. If equipped, the brake pressure control valves are located on the outlet ports of the master cylinder.


CAUTION
Brake fluid contains polyglycol ethers and polyglycols. Avoid contact with the eyes and wash your hands thoroughly after handling brake fluid. If you do get brake fluid in your eyes, flush your eyes with clean, running water for 15 minutes. If eye irritation persists, or if you have taken brake fluid internally, IMMEDIATELY seek medical assistance.

  1. Remove the brake lines from the pressure control valves.
  2.  
  3. Unscrew the valves from the master cylinder.
  4.  

To install:
  1. Install the valves into the master cylinder.
  2.  
  3. Install the brake lines into the valves.
  4.  
  5. Bleed the brake system.
  6.
