If the vehicle requires towing, it is recommended that a wrecker equipped with a wheel lift be used. The weight of the vehicle should be supported by the lifting device placed under the wheels. Using this technique, the vehicle can be towed from the front or the rear. If the vehicle is to be towed from the rear, the front wheels MUST be placed on a dolly to prevent damage to the transaxle. Make certain the transaxle is in the Neutral (manual) or Park (automatic) position and that the parking brake is released prior to towing the vehicle.
When towing the vehicle, with driving wheels on the ground, do not exceed 35 mph (56 km/h). Also, do not tow the vehicle for a distance exceeding 50 miles (80 km), or transmission damage can occur.
