Ford Excursion, Expedition, Lincoln Navigator 2000-2005

Track Bar

Removal & Installation

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions section.
The electrical power to the air suspension system must be shut off prior to hoisting, jacking or towing an air suspension vehicle. This can be accomplished by turning off the air suspension switch located in the PASSENGER SIDE kick panel area. Failure to do so can result in unexpected inflation or deflation of the air springs, which can result in shifting of the vehicle during these operations.

  3. Raise and support the vehicle.
The air suspension height sensor has a plastic harness retainer to suspension that must be unclipped prior to removal.

  5. Remove or disconnect the following:

Air suspension height sensor electrical connector
Metal retaining tabs and remove the air suspension height sensor from the ball studs
    Passenger side trackbar bolt
Driver-s side trackbar nut and bolt
    Trackbar from the vehicle

To install:

  1. The installation is the reverse of the removal. Tighten the upper and lower track bar bolts to 306 ft. lbs. (500 Nm) on 2001-02 models and 406 ft. lbs. (550 Nm) on all other models.
