Body Lubrication

At 12 month intervals, the door, hood and trunk hinges, checks, and latches should be greased with a white grease such as Lubriplate®. Also the lock cylinders should be lubricated with a few drops of graphite lubricant.

The doors and rocker panels of your car are equipped with drain holes to allow water to drain out the inside of the body panels. If the drain holes become clogged with dirt, leaves, pine needles, etc., the water will remain inside the panels, causing rust. To prevent this, open the drain holes with a small scribe or punch. If your car is equipped with rubber dust valves instead, simply open the dust valve with your finger.
