Loosen the wheel lug nuts. Raise the front of the car, safely support on jackstands and remove the wheels.
Remove and discard the cotter pin and nut from the worn outer tie rod end.
Loosen the tie rod end jam nut. Disconnect the tie rod end from the steering spindle using a tie rod end puller/press.
Unscrew the tie rod end, counting the number of turns required for removal.
Install the new end in the reverse order of removal. Screw it in the required number of turns, mount the tie rod end and secure the jam nut. Have the toe checked.
