Removal & Installation



Except Wagon
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
  2.  
  3. Raise and support the vehicle.
  4.  
  5. Disconnect battery negative cable from battery and properly isolate to prevent accidental reconnection.
  6.  
  7. Remove the spring.
  8.  
  9. Mark the position of the rear lower arm adjustment cam to the crossmember.
  10.  
  11. Detach the stabilizer bar from the rear lower arm.
  12.  
  13. Remove the rear lower arm.
  14.  

To install:


NOTE
Align the mark on the rear lower arm adjustment cam to the mark on the crossmember.

  1. Install the rear lower arm but do not fully tighten the bolts
  2.  
  3. Install the rear lower arm-to-wheel knuckle retaining bolt.
  4.  
  5. Attach the stabilizer bar to the rear lower arm and tighten the nut to 11 ft. lbs. (15 Nm)
  6.  
  7. Install the spring.
    NOTE
    Final tightening of the rear suspension components should be carried out at or near the curb height setting. Load the suspension to achieve this.

  8.  
  9. Tighten the rear lower arm adjustment cam nut and rear lower arm-to-wheel knuckle retaining bolts 85 ft. lbs. (115 Nm)
  10.  
  11. Check the toe setting and adjust as necessary.
  12.  

Wagon
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.

  3. Raise and support the vehicle.
  4.  
  5. Disconnect battery negative cable from battery and properly isolate to prevent accidental reconnection.

  7. Remove the spring.
  8.  
  9. Mark the position of the rear lower arm adjustment cam to the crossmember.
  10.  
  11. Remove the rear lower arm.
  12.  

To install:


NOTE
Align the mark on the rear lower arm adjustment cam to the mark on the crossmember.

  1. Install the rear lower arm but do not fully tighten the bolts

  3. Install the spring.
