Removal & Installation

  1. Relieve the fuel system pressure.
  2.  
  3. Raise and support the vehicle safely on jackstands.
  4.  
  5. Place a rag under the fuel filter to catch any residual fuel that may leak out when the filter is removed.
  6.  
  7. Remove the quick-connect fittings at both ends of the fuel filter.
  8.  
  9. Install retainer clips in each fitting.
  10.  
  11. Note the flow arrow direction for installation reference.
  12.  
  13. Remove the fuel filter by pulling it from the bracket.
  14.

  1. Install the fuel filter in its bracket, ensuring proper direction of flow as noted earlier.
  2.  
  3. Apply clean engine oil to end of fuel line and install the quick-connect fittings at both ends of the fuel filter. Ensure the fuel line clicks into place and is fully seated.
  4.  
  5. Start the engine and check the filter connections for leaks by running the tip of your finger around each connection.
  6.  
  7. Turn the engine off and lower the vehicle.
